The Recruitment and Screening section will review your application through each step of the process. If, for any reason, you do not qualify, you will be notified via your Workday account.

Initial application is completed by the applicant with basic information. You will upload your resume. Recruitment and Screening staff will review the initial application to ensure you qualify to move forward.

A second list of questions is sent to you. This portion requires you to upload your birth certificate, signed social security card, diploma, driver's license, military service records, marriage/divorce paperwork, name-changing paperwork, and naturalization paperwork (if applicable).

You will upload a signed credit waiver, a notarized FDLE form, and a medical clearance form completed by a medical professional. The medical clearance must be completed before signing up for the Physical Abilities Assessment (PAA).

Physical Abilities Assessment (PAA)

You will be prompted to complete an online assessment. This is a series of questions and a writing sample.

After the entire application is completed, your file will be reviewed. You will be assigned to a background investigator if no additional information is needed.

The background investigator will contact you and schedule you for an interview. From there, they will walk you through the remainder of the process, including but not limited to a polygraph exam, psychological exam, medical exam, oral board, and a jail shadow or ride-along.

A background investigator will review your application, and if you do not qualify for any reason, you will be notified via your Workday account.

For some positions testing is required. Once it is determined that you qualify for the position you may be moved to assessment.

After successful completion of the assessment, the Testing Proctor will move your application to a background investigator. The background investigator will assign you to the appropriate hiring manager.

If you are selected by the hiring manager, a background investigator will schedule you for an interview and polygraph. You will be required to complete additional application questions and documents including uploading your birth certificate, signed social security card, driver's license, marriage/divorce paperwork, name-changing paperwork, and naturalization or permanent resident or employment authorization card (if applicable).

When the background check is completed your file will move forward through the chain of command for approval. Once approved, you will receive an offer letter at which time you will be scheduled for medical and psychological (if applicable) appointments. Once medically and psychologically (if applicable) cleared, you will be given a hire date.
