
Hiring Qualifications
Minimum Requirements (Sworn and Professional Positions):
- Attendance at specific work location required
- No face, neck, or head tattoos
- No illegal drug sale in lifetime
- 36 months drug free
- 12 months marijuana free
- No felony criminal history / dishonorable discharge
- Residency requirements (within 60 miles of Falkenburg Road Jail)
- Pass intensive background check
Position Based Requirements:
- United States Citizen
- Good moral character
- Valid Florida driver's license
- Tobacco/nicotine free for 6 months before applying
- Completion of Physical Abilities Assessment (PAA) -
This physical fitness test measures your ability to perform the essential tasks of the job. The PAA consists of a series of exercises including running, climbing, dragging weights, and navigating obstacles. You must complete the course within a specific timeframe.

Detention Trainee
- 19 years old
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of Criminal Justice Basic Ability Test (CJBAT) -

Detention Pre-Certified
FL Corrections certification
Law Enforcement Trainee
- 21 years old
- 60 college credits or 3 years US military
- Completion of Criminal Justice Basic Ability Test (CJBAT)

Law Enforcement Pre-Certified
FL Law Enforcement certification
1 year work experience or 60 college credits or 3 years US military
