Criminal Justice Advanced & Specialized Training
Advanced and specialized classes are available for certified Law Enforcement and Corrections Officers in the state of Florida. The Sheriff’s Training Academy offers advanced and specialized courses to maintain officer's mandatory retraining requirements. Our advanced and specialized classes are offered at no cost to any agency, but we do give seat priority to officers of the Hillsborough County region.
Program Details
To Register:
- All HCSO personnel shall submit a training request through Workday.
- All other agencies must submit an Advanced & Specialized Training Authorization form through your training section.

Your department’s authorized training uniform or business casual attire. No jeans permitted. Law enforcement personnel not in uniform that are carrying exposed firearms must prominently display agency ID and/or badge at all times while on college property.
Attendance at the initial class is mandatory. All students must adhere to the attendance requirements of the Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission and the Rules, Policies and Procedures of the Sheriff’s Training Academy.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office operates multiple training locations. To ensure a seamless experience, please confirm the specific location assigned for your course prior to your scheduled training date.
